Our first grader! He was excited to go to school and see all his friends.
Here is what he was the most excited about...
eating in the cafeteria,
playing on the playground,
and math (in that order).
The new back pack. Still not crazy about it - but he is. Why would anyone think neon orange and army was a good choice? But, after turning down character backpacks and skull and crossbones- this was the compromise. Maybe next year he can go traditional... blue or red.
As you can see we had a dreary first day of school- overcast, rain (sprinkles as we took the pictures), and cool.
Here is the real Ethan. Crazy.
So... when I picked him up he had a few things to say...
First- he made a new friend (awesome).
Second- the best part of the day was going on the playground and seeing all his kindergarten friends that were not placed in his 1st grade class (I hear you Ethan, that is always a bummer not to be placed with your old friends. He was placed with a couple though. PTL).
Third - they did math today, but "Mom, it was too easy, they are still giving us kindergarten math. Don't they know we need something more challenging?" (Seriously, he said this. The kid cracks me up. Thanks Grandad for the awesome Math genes).
