Isaac gets a Haircut

Isaac has crazy thin light hair - it is impossible to get cut or make "lay flat"! So (despite his odd shaped head- thanks to the "Back to Sleep" campaign!) we decided to shave it short. Check it out... On the porch at Grandad's house - watching the clippers come out.

Livy watching intensely from inside. She was too cold to make it outside.

The next day - Isaac (with buddy Seth). you wouldn't believe how many people have told us he looks just like Ethan - since we shaved his head!

Happy Thanksgiving

We spent a fun and relaxing Thanksgiving at my parents. Although the weather was really cold - we enjoyed the time away from school and work and our "normal" life. Hope your Thanksgiving was full of family, fun and relaxation too!

Isaac was not cooperating (with the camera) on Thursday. More to come that include him!

Tree Removal

My parents came for the day on Sunday to help John take down some trees. I thought maybe they would tackle one or two - oh no. I should have known- my dad and my husband with a chainsaw... you can add it up. The kids thought it was great fun to watch (from a distance and then from the house) - but Isaac is still talking about how it was too loud! Thanks to my parents for all their help - and as a bonus we have plenty of firewood for the rest of the winter!

Climbing out of the Crib

After weeks of battling the twins climbing out of their cribs we finally gave up! We converted their cribs into toddler beds. The twins have LOVED the change and overall have handled it really well. The funniest part is that often we will hear a "thud" in the middle of the night when one of them has rolled out- but as you can see it is a short fall. Here is Isaac - who slept through the fall! We have also seen him asleep with his stomach on the bed and his legs on the floor and asleep in front of the door (I had to push him out of the way - with the door - all while he stayed asleep to be able to get in!). Just one more major milestone and babyhood will be over... potty-- training! The ever dreaded and much hated toddler milestone. I will save that for another day!

Trick or Treat

On Halloween Night we opted out of Trick or Treating... I know many of you think that is so nuts! Basically- we have tried trick or treating for several years and it comes down to this... people are just too into Halloween. When you are trying to scare (and I mean really scare) two year olds - you need help! Last year the older kids scary costumes and the (way too) intense decorations in our neighborhood were just too much. One night of fun is not worth weeks of nightmares! We would rather just keep Halloween fun and about the important things- like costumes and candy!! So we headed to a festival at a local church. We had heard it was really good - but had never been before. It was awesome... all free, lots of rides and bouncy houses and plenty of candy (and only 1 really scary costume was seen all night). We met some friends there too, have a look... Batman ready to patrol and protect the night.

One little monkey.

So.... you may notice that the twins are dressed differently than a previous post - I let them choose and this is what they really wanted... but I think they were pretty darn cute!

Two little monkeys.

All the kids we came with.

Where is the candy?

Check out the cute curly tail.

Ethan and his best bud! Batman and the Track Star!

“When I was young, I said to God, 'God, tell me the mystery of the universe.' But God answered, 'That knowledge is for me alone.' So I said, 'God, tell me the mystery of the peanut.' Then God said, 'Well George, that's more nearly your size.' And he told me.”- George Washington Carver
