Trying to get a Christmas Photo

This weekend we attempted to take a cute photo of all three kids for a Christmas card. Well... here are the results. We are planning on trying again. Our cards may be late this year!!

The babies are straight serious.
Help Daddy!
Later at home the babies are all smiles.. but where is big brother!!

A Family Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was fun this year- but also more complicated since we have gone from a family of three to a family of five. The babies were both battling cold/ flu symptoms all week. But, overall they did really well off of their regular schedule. We spent the week at my parents house. Ethan really loves it there- here are some highlights... The family in the back yard. 1st attempt at a family photo.

My dad and my Aunt Vicki cooking up some yummy Midwestern food.

My grandparents (paternal). Ethan had a good time "performing" for them.

My parents racing to get the food on the table while everything was still hot. My mom made pretty much everything and it was all delicious (especially since I did not have to cook it!).

The adult table

The kids table.

Outside on the front porch. The weather was perfect- in the 70's. We talked to my cousin in Ohio that morning and the Cleveland area was expecting 2 inches of snow. Enough to prove once again that living in the South is better!!

Isaac' s Thanksgiving Feast. The princess was sleeping off her cold.

The boys.

Uncle Ben and Ethan in the cul -de- sac.
The family on the front porch. Ethan 3 1/2 and babies 7 months.

The Hardesty Family.

Ethan's favorite part about Granny's house...

Getting to stay up late to be the "fire- keeper" and roast marshmallows.

Ethan's Thanksgiving Party at School

Ethan in his "head- dress" and Thanksgiving shirt.
His class made the traditional Thanksgiving Turkey with hand prints. Ethan was extremely excited about the T- shirt.. until we washed it and the turkey's washed off!!! All the other decorations in tact. So we re- did the hand prints at home.

The three year olds did a presentation of Thanksgiving songs for the parents. Her is Ethan timidly singing. Who knew our little wild man could be so tame!

The thanksgiving feast. The menu featured pb& j, chicken fingers, and ham. No turkey!!!

Halloween Fun

Halloween was a lot of fun this year. We definitely got our money out of Ethan's costume. He wore it everyday for a month and to several Halloween or Fall Festival Events. We decided not to go Trick or Treating this year for several reasons - but mostly because our neighborhood gets way too into it. There were several front yards overly decorated with headstones, goblins, dry ice etc. Just driving past these have given Ethan nightmares- I am not sure how he would have handled walking up to them or even past them. Ethan is still talking about the monster that lives in his neighborhood- from driving past one of these goblin looking things. And, he can not be talked out of this belief since he will be quick to tell you "I saw it!" Here are all three of our kiddos. Isaac was a fireman, Livy was a dalmatian, and Ethan was a fireman. This photo was actually on Halloween night. We went to a local church with some friends for a "scare- free" fall festival. Ethan had a blast with all the games and bounce houses. He also received more candy there than he will ever be allowed to eat!!! By the time this shot was taken - Ethan was completely worn out and ready for bed.
On Tuesday night we went to the natural Science Center for their Boo Bash. It was fun, but way too crowded! Above you will see Ethan playing one of the games.

Last Saturday we went to Boo at the Zoo with some friends. The weather was beautiful and a lot of the animals were out and active because of the nice fall day. Ethan had a really good time. This was my favorite (Shannon) of the Halloween events. We will definitely attend again.

The friends we went with.

Ethan's favorite little girl Caroline was there as an adorable ladybug.

Matching Pajamas

Wednesday night we dressed (well really I dressed - John doesn't really care) all three kids in matching jammies. I insisted on try to get a cute shot of the three of them and ta da- our first really cute shot of all three smiling! I am on an eternal quest to find matching boy/ girl outfits!! I had no idea how difficult it would be to find cute outfits for boy girl twins. Other than pajamas - they are hard to come by. Most of the outfits either make the girl look too masculine or the boy to feminine. So, if you see any adorable ones - email me and let me know!!!!
“When I was young, I said to God, 'God, tell me the mystery of the universe.' But God answered, 'That knowledge is for me alone.' So I said, 'God, tell me the mystery of the peanut.' Then God said, 'Well George, that's more nearly your size.' And he told me.”- George Washington Carver
