First Trip to the Pool

John took the day off on Friday and we headed down to Raleigh for the weekend. we decided to take the twins to the pool for the first time. Everyone had a good time - but it took four adults to handle the three kids. The days of relaxing by the side of the pool with a book are long gone! Here is Ethan playing with some other kids toy - we did not even think to bring anything for Ethan to play with- we were so concerned to get out the door as quickly as possible.

Here's Livy. Is she cute or what????
Aunt Jackie and Isaac. She tried to take him into the water, but he loudly protested, it was much too cold.

Doris, Beth, Scarlett and Jay Come By

John's Aunt Doris, his cousin Beth and her two kids came over to meet the twins! Here we are having lunch in our back yard.

Here are some photos of the kids enjoying the sunshine, the slip - n- slide and the mini pool. Scarlett and Jay are Ethan's 2nd cousins - don't they look like they could be Ethan's brother and sister?!? There is a lot of red hair on both sides of our family. But so far the twins seemed to have missed it. Isaac is bleach blond and Livy looks brownish (but mostly she is just bald).

Two Month Photos

Here are the 2 month pictures. We decided to throw Ethan into the mix. It was quite a workout to get all of them photographed- but we did manage to get a few cute ones. Still have not been able to get them both smiling at the same time... maybe one day.

Nine Weeks Old

Here are Isaac and Livy at 9 weeks old. They are both smiling now and generally very happy. They smile the most at Ethan, of course, even though he has never fed them or changed their diapers!!

The Twins First Overnight Trip

A couple more pictures. Here are a couple from our first outings to Granny and Grandad's house.

Now that we are home...

Here are some photos of the last nine weeks at home with the twins. Everyone keeps asking what it has been like and it is hard to sum it all up. There has been A LOT of crying, diaper changes, long nights and temper tantrums (mostly Ethan- but occasionally Shannon too)!! But they started smiling recently and there are also twice as many smiles and babies to cuddle.
“When I was young, I said to God, 'God, tell me the mystery of the universe.' But God answered, 'That knowledge is for me alone.' So I said, 'God, tell me the mystery of the peanut.' Then God said, 'Well George, that's more nearly your size.' And he told me.”- George Washington Carver
