Tiny Dancer

Our tiny lady started ballet this month. She has been asking to take ballet for a while now- and was very excited until the night of. Her first week she cried the entire class, stood in the corner, and would not talk to the teacher. Then on the way home, "I no like ballet. I want to be gymnastics!". To which I replied, "Tough, we already signed up (and paid)". But, surprisingly, the second week she went right in and danced the whole time.

These pictures are actually out of order. The black leotard is the second week, thought you would want to see the happy pictures first.

First week.
Starts out smiling.

it goes downhill fast.

Stop it, Mom!

The First Day in the First Grade

Our first grader! He was excited to go to school and see all his friends.
Here is what he was the most excited about...
eating in the cafeteria,
playing on the playground,
and math (in that order).

The new back pack. Still not crazy about it - but he is. Why would anyone think neon orange and army was a good choice? But, after turning down character backpacks and skull and crossbones- this was the compromise. Maybe next year he can go traditional... blue or red.

As you can see we had a dreary first day of school- overcast, rain (sprinkles as we took the pictures), and cool.

Here is the real Ethan. Crazy.

So... when I picked him up he had a few things to say...
First- he made a new friend (awesome).

Second- the best part of the day was going on the playground and seeing all his kindergarten friends that were not placed in his 1st grade class (I hear you Ethan, that is always a bummer not to be placed with your old friends. He was placed with a couple though. PTL).

Third - they did math today, but "Mom, it was too easy, they are still giving us kindergarten math. Don't they know we need something more challenging?" (Seriously, he said this. The kid cracks me up. Thanks Grandad for the awesome Math genes).

First Grade is Expensive

Well, summer vacation ends tomorrow. Ethan heads to first grade. We are all but ready to go... teacher met, lunch packed, clothes laid out, back pack packed, and summer reading sheets filled out. All we have to do now is say our prayers, go to sleep, and walk into the future. Ethan is excited and ready.

Oh yeah, did I mention, 1st grade is rather expensive. Check out all the required supplies. (Not wish - list mind you). But, we gladly purchase it. So, thankful to be in a great school. More on our first- grader tomorrow.

(PS - Guess who picked out the new back pack. I wanted sensible and blue. Ethan got his way- you have to learn to pick your battles people).

The Reception

So... here are the pictures of the Tina and Lando's Reception. Get ready for a lot of pictures! Hope you enjoy! Wish I was there again!

The bride and groom.

My cousin Katherine (pink dress), my Uncle Thom (tie), my mom (black dress) and Olivia (blond cute kid!). Dancing to Shout!

Bride and groom and their two flower girls (plus Livy).
Livy is still telling people she was a flower girl.

Livy up way past bed time. I promise she had fun!

This is an odd picture... but that is my Dad holding up Isaac and Ethan so they can look out the windows. The reception hall had great views of the Magic Kingdom and Epcot at night and they are watching the Epcot fireworks.

Now, that is one pink cake!
It was delicious.

My kids trying to figure out why they just smashed cake in each other's faces.

Aunt Jackie and Isaac.

Ethan giving Isaac dance lessons.

Check out Ethan's moves- he had us laughing all night!

"Mommy, I need a break!"

My sister Jackie dancing with our cousin, Sean.

Drinking Ginger Ale out of Champagne glasses after the toast. They both (Ethan and Olivia) got some weird looks!

The groom's cake.

Liv and Jackie.

My mom and sister. Mom, why do you look so serious?

Livy coloring- Tina and Lando's Wedding Coloring Book. A cute thing she made for all the kids.

The Wedding

So... even though it was the main event we got very pictures of the wedding! Sorry, Tina! But, I did get a lot of the reception!

The bride and groom during the sand ceremony.

The bridal party.

The Nash Family.

Stay tuned for more reception fun...

Waiting...

The bride being readied for the ceremony.

Bridesmaid (my cousin Katherine) getting ready.

Me and my sister.

Just kickin' back until it's time for his big debut.

Waiting for the ceremony to begin.
Isaac slept through the entire ceremony. After several fun-filled days ahead of time - who could blame him! (Plus it made it easier for John to "control" the twins).
“When I was young, I said to God, 'God, tell me the mystery of the universe.' But God answered, 'That knowledge is for me alone.' So I said, 'God, tell me the mystery of the peanut.' Then God said, 'Well George, that's more nearly your size.' And he told me.”- George Washington Carver
